Education

Scotland continues to be challenged by high levels of teenage unplanned pregnancy and poor sexual health, with Aberdeen city suffering more than the Scottish average.  Choices Aberdeen are concerned about health and wellbeing across the city and have developed Sexual Health Workshops covering topics like; relationships, positive and negative outcomes to being sexually active, positive assertiveness, decision making and the influences on sexual behaviour.

Our priorities are promoting positive, healthy relationships raising healthy self esteem and supporting intelligent choices.  We have also developed the workshops to reflect the four capacities set out in the Curriculum for Excellence.  The aim of the workshops is therefore to:

Workshop Feedback:

‘Excellent pupils, captivated and interested in content’

‘If I was a tutor giving a crit – it would be an A’

‘The pupils really enjoyed it as did the class teacher’

‘Interactive tasks, positive atmosphere in class, thanks’

‘It was good and helped us to understand more about our choices’

‘Interesting made us think about our choices’
